A titanium implant post is the screw-shaped metal fixture surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root and support a dental prosthetic.

The titanium implant post, also called a fixture or endosseous implant, is a small cylindrical screw typically 8 to 12 millimeters long that is surgically anchored directly into the jawbone. It functions as an artificial tooth root, providing structural support for a dental crown, bridge, or denture attached at the top.

Titanium is the material of choice for implant posts because it is biocompatible, meaning bone cells accept it and fuse to its surface in a process called osseointegration. This integration creates a stable, long-term foundation that can withstand chewing forces. Titanium resists corrosion in the mouth's moist, acidic environment and does not trigger allergic reactions in most patients.
